Toba Lake
The lake is very beautiful. In the middle of this lake there is a volcanic island called Samosir Island. Toba Lake with a length of 100 km and a width of 30 km, located in the province of North Sumatra. Toba Lake is the largest lake in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Sewu Temple

Sewu temple is one of the main holiday destination for domestic and foreign tourists in Indonesia. Sewu temple is part of the history of the Indonesian tourist icon. Sewu Temple is a Buddhist temple built in the 8th century BC, end of the reign Panangkaran. Panangkaran (746-784) was a renowned king of ancient Mataram kingdom. Based Kelurak inscription 782 numbered years and Manjusrigrha inscription in 792 and was found in 1960, the original name of this temple is "Prasada Vajrasana Manjusrigrha". Sewu temple complex located at Hamlet Bener, Bugisan Village, District Prambanan, Klaten, Central Java Province

Sewu temple is the second largest Buddhist temple complex after Borobudur in Central Java. Originally had 249 temples, but by the local community of this temple is called "Sewu" which means a thousand in the Java language.

This temple complex may be restored, and expanded during the reign of Rakai Pikatan, a prince of the Sanjaya dynasty who married Pramodhawardhani son of King Smaratungga of Sailendra dynasty. Look of grandeur and breadth of this temple complex, Sewu is a Buddhist temple to the kingdom which became an important center of religious activity buddha in the past.

Sewu temple was badly damaged by an earthquake in May 2006 that hit Yogyakarta and Central Java southern portion. Very real damage to building structures and the main temple suffered the most severe damage. Rock fragments scattered on the ground, cracks and fissures between rocks visible connection.


As a tourist destination, Sewu immediately repaired. To prevent the collapse of buildings, metal frame mounted on four corners of the building to support and hold the body of the main temple. Although the site was reopened to visitors a few weeks later after the earthquake in 2006, the entire section of the main temple remain closed and should not be accessible for security reasons. Now, after restoration, metal cantilever main temple has been removed and visitors can enter the room in the main temple.
